Rowanberry Fern, Hemionitis Arifolia

Fern of the Pteris family (Pteridaceae). Naturally, ferns of the genus Hemionitis occur in tropical regions of America. Like almost any fern, it needs a lot of diffused light and high air humidity. It is also impossible to allow the soil to dry out because the leaves die quite quickly due to water shortage. The first symptom of dryness is the curling of the leaves underneath in a "tube". It should then be thoroughly soaked in a bowl of water. This fern has an interesting form of reproduction, because in addition to dividing the root ball, it can be multiplied by young cuttings produced on the petiole near the leaf blade. This plant compensates for high requirements with exceptionally beautiful heart-shaped leaves.
